Start Running, Lose Weight

Start Running, Lose Weight

It’s never too late to start, and we know how hard it is to lose weight. Trust me, I do! Having weight and fitness issues is never a good feeling. Most of the fitness experts are talking about lifting weights, yoga, kick-boxing and so many other forms of activity. If that isn’t your cuppa, how about you start something simple and cost effective to lose weight? Yes, of course, the answer is running. Running is lovingly called ‘mother of all sports’ by many sports enthusiasts! We are not talking about marathon running and fast running! The key to losing weight is ‘effective running.’ Let’s keep it simple and effective for starters, and I’m sure you’ll get on track very soon. We’ll help you do that, and get there, fret not!

We have a simple plan that you can follow. Just a couple of minutes in a day is all you need (and, determination), we promise you will start getting healthy! The plan is given below in the form of a table. You will be able to follow it on most days; we all have bad days, and what you do on those days is very important too!

5 minutes walk and 10 minutes run

2

6

7

* Do not forget to stretch after you finish running, getting a cramp is not fun.

The idea here is to find your comfort zone when you are running. Each of us have a different sweet spot when it comes to running (technically, running doesn’t have a sweet spot). We are referring to your pace and strength. You will slowly build it in time, and that involves time and effort.

Things to remember:

It’s important to fuel up your body for your workout. You can have a piece of fruit or an energy bar about 2 hours before you lace up your shoes. If you are a fan of sports drink, go for it! The drink will ensure that you are fully hydrated, and it gives you the right energy.
