What Body Type Are You?
"Everybody type is different - that's what makes you unique. What makes you special is you, and you are different from the next person sitting beside you".
- Janet Jackson
A woman's body type is a complex only until she understands what body type she belongs to. The general shape of a person is defined by the skeletal structure and the distribution of muscles and fat. Skeletal structure grows and changes only up to the point at which a human reaches adulthood and remains essentially the same for the rest of her/his life.
Once you understand what body type you fall under, dressing up is so much more fun. Here are the 4 main types of body that have been defined:
ANGERONA - Apple Shaped Body Type
You fall into this body type if you have a large waistline, i.e, your waistline is larger compared to your bust line or hips. Your weight is concentrated around your waist. The good news for the apple shaped body type is that once you start working out, your body will respond well to exercise and healthy diet.
You should avoid clothes that are clingy around the waistline and must make sure the shoulder is well defined. A drawstring top would work best along with darker colored bottom.
HEBE - Hour Glass Shaped Body Type
Also known as the hourglass figure. You fall into this body type if you have a proportionate upper body and lower body. Well defined waist and perfectly balanced weight distribution.
Accentuate your waistline with uppers like a tank top, cross back, and racer back tops. Bottoms that you can carry off are shorts to a well-sculpted pant.
PANACEA - Pear Shaped Body Type
Pear-shaped or triangle shaped women fall into this category. You fall into this body type if you have defined hips or thighs with a well-defined waist. Your shoulders are narrower than your hip. A small top half as well as bust.
If you have a pear-shaped body, your fat deposit on the hips is less likely to travel around the body, reducing the risk of heart disease. To create a balanced illusion, try tops that cover your hips like a kurti and a harem bottom that fits loosely around the problem areas.
RHEA - Rectangle Shaped Body Type
Also known as the rectangular or tubular body shape. You fall into this category if you have a boxy silhouette. The similar circumference of bust, waist, and hip. Hips tend to be square and often arms and legs are proportionately slender.
Women with a rectangular shaped body generally have a higher metabolic rate and don't gain weight easily compared to other shapes.
Drawstring tank tops with a hem under the bustline provide some shape to your body. A few gatherings along the bust line helps accentuate your waistline. Bottoms like wrap pants give character to your bottom.
